White grubs are among the most destructive lawn pests in Central New York. These larvae of various beetle species feed on your lawn's root system, causing extensive damage that can quickly turn large sections of your turf brown and lifeless.

Understanding the Grub Threat

Grubs are the larvae of several beetle species including Japanese beetles, European chafer beetles, and June beetles. They feed on grass roots below the soil surface, severing the connection between the grass and its water/nutrient supply. This damage becomes evident in late summer as large irregular brown patches develop in your lawn that can be pulled up like a loose carpet.

The difficult part about grub damage is that by the time you see the symptoms, the destruction is already significant. This makes preventative treatment the most effective approach for protecting your lawn.

Our Preventative Approach

Our Grub Control service is specifically designed to prevent grub damage before it starts. We apply a season-long preventative treatment during our Early Summer application (the same visit), creating a protective barrier that stops grubs from developing in your soil.

This timing is strategic - we apply the treatment when adult beetles are beginning to lay eggs, but before the eggs hatch and the destructive feeding cycle begins. This ensures maximum effectiveness with minimal environmental impact.
